Day One is in the Bag!

Hello hello everybody!

So I got a great start to my book yesterday afternoon, and have done a little more writing this morning. I’m really pleased with how things are going so far, as I enter the 4th chapter of the book (the last chapter in the 1st Act). The preparation I’ve done in the last couple months has really paid off so far, and at the pace I’ve been writing, I expect I might finish this book early. In fact, the NaNoWriMo website where I keep track of all my stats is predicting I’ll hit 50,000 words by November 10th if I can keep up the pace.

So since we’re here, and since I don’t want to give away any spoilers just yet, let’s talk statistics!

Yesterday, I wrote 4,262 words. A little over 2,000 words were in the first chapter, and of course another 2,000 or so words in the second chapter. Today, I have written 1,610 words, and have finished the 3rd chapter of the book. I expect to write the 4th chapter later today, but you’ll have to wait until Friday for the first of my weekly writing updates!

It really feels great to have started on this thing, and I’m incredibly excited for the rest of the words to get down on paper; they’ve been floating around my head for months now.

On Friday, I’ll discuss what I’ve written to that point (in no great details; spoilers!), and will discuss how I beat Writer’s Block. I may also provide an excerpt of a prequel short story I wrote last week to get my writing chops back.

In the meantime, thank you all so much for coming on this journey with me. We’re in the thick of it now! As always, make sure to follow the blog to get updates straight to your email!

Until next time, keep reading!
