Alright, so you know why I’m here, but now you just really want to know what I’m writing this year, my first* novel. So here goes, the first time I’ve discussed this with anybody.
Our story takes place in Antolly, the capital city of the Kingdom of Thirama. We meet Garsek, former member of the Queen’s Guard, now fallen onto hard times. He’s working as a Private Detective and is hired by Rashim, an older Gnomish farmer. Rashim’s boy, Corwyl, has died in service to the Knights of Rethia, and Rashim wants to know the truth.
That’s the hook, but of course there’s more going on than meets the eye. Garsek will find himself face to face with stories of the Apostate Gods, dangerous magic, and his own memories.
If the last paragraph didn’t give it away, the book is a mystery set in my fantasy world of Nuria. Garsek has been a really interesting character to plot out, and I think you’ll all enjoy reading more of his backstory as things progress further. Next week, I’ll try and post a brief update on my plotting technique, and the progress I’ve made. Until then, have a good one.
